SHERPA is the research center of the CSSS de la Montagne. The work, reflections and new practices developed SHERPA combine knowledge of the practice environment and academia and are orientated around the adaptation of the first line of response in context of multi-ethnicity.<\/p>\n

The mission of the CSSS de la Montagne is to improve the health and well-being of the residents within its territory. Enriched by the strength and diversity of the population and staff, the institution\u2019s raison d\u2019\u00eatre is to meet the populational responsibility legislatively conferred upon it. The institution\u2019s principal mandates can be summed up as follows:<\/p>\n

o\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Know and manage its population\u2019s health and well-being;<\/p>\n

o\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Coordinate and manage the use of services available to its population;<\/p>\n

o\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Provide optimal management of the spectrum of services;<\/p>\n

o\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Define a clinical and organizational project for its territory;<\/p>\n

o\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Support its primary mission by incorporating a university teaching and research mission;<\/p>\n

o\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Inform and consult the population to engage it and measure its degree of satisfaction.<\/p>\n

The CSSS de la Montagne holds regional mandates. It is responsible for delivering health and social services to asylum seekers (PRAIDA), front-line services by C\u00f4te-des-Neiges Birth Centre midwives, and occupational health services in other CLSC territories in Montr\u00e9al. The CSSS also manages the Info-Sant\u00e9 health hotline services for the entire Island of Montr\u00e9al.<\/p>\n

To accomplish its mission, the CSSS de la Montagne works jointly with local partners, thoroughly acquainted with the community, making it possible to ensure service continuity and support users and their loved ones in navigating the health and social services system.<\/p>\n
