The reception began with a screening of The Invisible Picture Show<\/a>, a\u00a0Google Digital One Media Award-winning animated documentary featuring the stories of children detained in the US, Australia, South Africa and Greece. An expert panel then discussed reports highlighting\u00a0concerns regarding the return to use of family detention centres in the US\u00a0despite clear evidence that immigration detention poses serious, and potentially lifelong, physical, mental and developmental harms to children. Even very limited periods of detention in relatively humane conditions have been found to damage children\u2019s psychological health and development.<\/p>\n

El evento empez\u00f3 con la proyecci\u00f3n del Invisible Picture Show<\/a>, documental animado premiado por Google Digital One Media que comparte las historias de ni\u00f1os, ni\u00f1as y adolescentes migrantes en detenci\u00f3n en EUA, Australia, Sud\u00e1frica y Grecias. Despu\u00e9s, el panel conversaba sobre el regreso a la pr\u00e1ctica preocupante de detenci\u00f3n de familias migrantes en EUA; eso a pesar de la evidencia que la detenci\u00f3n afecta de manera negativa el desarrollo mental, f\u00edsico y social de los ni\u00f1os. Hasta periodos cortos de detenci\u00f3n en condiciones humanas tienen efectos da\u00f1inos en la saludo y el desarrollo de los ni\u00f1os.<\/p>\n
