The report summarises an expert panelists discussion in relation to causes of child migration; the conditions that contribute to human trafficking of migrant children; the emotional and psychological consequences for these children; and the responsibilities of governments, international organizations, community-based organizations and NGO’s for creating solutions to theses crises The International Forum for Child Welfare (IFCW), asserting that the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (henceforth referred to as the CRC) mandates that States prioritize the human rights of children, and ensure their physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing, recognizes the unique risks migrant children and youth face, particularly unaccompanied minors, separated children and asylum-seeking or refugee children.
