Council of Europe Support the Campaign

We are proud to announce that the Committee on Migration, Refugees and Displaced Persons of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe is now a Campaign supporter.

Click here for a letter from Mr Mariani, Chairperson of the Committee expressing their support for the Campaign.

In supporting the campaign, the Committee urge governments to undertake changes to law, policy and practice to ensure that children are never detained on the basis of their or their parents’ immigration status.

The Council of Europe is the continent’s leading human rights organisation. It includes 47 member states, 28 of which are members of the European Union. All Council of Europe member states have signed up to the European Convention on Human Rights, a treaty designed to protect human rights, democracy and the rule of law.
