The Australian Coalition to End Immigration Detention of Children (ACEIDC) also known as End Child Detention Australia was formed in 2012 to advocate for the release of children being held in immigration detention facilities.
It currently consists of 8 partners from secular, faith-based and non-government organisations who together represent over 500 organisations, in effect a civil society movement against the detention of children.
#Free The Children is a social action coordinated by the ACEIDC taking place all over Australia, right now. See the action taking place near you.
On June 15 we are co-ordinating a National Day of Action.
The #Free The Children installation will be on the lawns of Parliament House, Canberra asking members of the public to come and symbolically free a child.
Nation wide, we will be running a coordinated social media campaign using #FreeTheChildren and inviting others to run their own version of our installation.
If you would like to run the action in your community, you can access our DIY kit here.
Contact Jenny Collins-White on 02 9919 7800 for more information.
